PhraseSwapper 1.1

PhraseSwapper is a tool to capture the language, text, and words of your Microsoft Excel based file and exchange one or more items from this list with an alternate from any language or character set. It is used to Cleanup, Re-Purpose, Translate, or Discover Content in files and solutions that you have already created.

PhraseSwapper uses three steps to transform your files: (1) an acquire step to gather all text and merge it into a list (the Library); (2) An assign alternate step that allows you (or your translator) to create one or more listings of alternate phrases; and finally, (3) a Swap step that exchanges the originals with the alternates.

PhraseSwapper searches all of the places that text can be found while ignoring pure numerical results and constants. You may also select other conditions and locations to ignore. Phrases are acquired and swapped from cells, formulas, comments, drawing shapes, charts, conditional formats, data validation, tab names and print headers/footers. By design, PhraseSwapper will not examine any dialogs, macros or VBA code attached to the project. PhraseSwapper respects the protections in place for protected projects, worksheets and workbooks.

PhraseSwapper works with files or templates created using Microsoft Excel XP, Microsoft Excel 2003, or Microsoft Excel 2007. PhraseSwapper runs on Microsoft Windows operating systems only.
