HelpSmith is an innovative help authoring tool allowing you to create CHM HTML Help files, Web Help , Word RTF, and Printed Manual Documentation from the same source help project. The stand-alone and very easy-to-use environment provides a powerful Word-like unicode text editor with dynamic styles and live spell checker, advanced approach to working with graphical files, and many other useful tools.
Based on the original technologies HelpSmith, enables creating documentation from start to finish and also lets you import help topics from HTML, Word RTF, TXT files that can be written in different ANSI and Unicode character encodings.
You can use HelpSmith to provide help files for your own application in popular help formats such as CHM Help files, a standard help format in Windows. HelpSmith has support for all the features of HTML Help, so you can create the tree-type table of contents, Index, also you can create and modify chm viewer's help windows, etc..
For the users of other help authoring tools, HelpSmith has the Import ability, which lets you import your existing help projects written in HHP or even directly from html help CHM files.
The "What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get" principle makes the process of using HelpSmith as easy as using a regular office application. And, in fact, you do not have to learn any technical details to develop professional help files with the HelpSmith authoring tool.
